Such fine craftsmanship is featured in this handsome vintage horse brooch from Taiwan, carved from creamy mother of pearl shell, circa late 60s early 70s. 

The elegant Asian equine pin is hand carved from genuine mother-of-pearl, in the form of a horse in repose with detailed mane, tail, and facial features.

The brooch measures approximately 1&3/4 inches wide by 1&1/4 inches high, has an adhesive applied metal pinback stamped “Taiwan”, and weighs 5.3 grams.
